In collaboration with Carl Bailey and the Fly-in Café, this festival promises an unforgettable experience for music lovers and art enthusiasts alike.
The journey to the creation of the Appalachian Blues Festival is a testament to the resilience and passion of the Huntington Blues Society. Emerging from the challenges of the pandemic, our society sought a new home for our monthly meetings, and in the summer of 2022, Carl Bailey extended a gracious invitation to host our gatherings at the Fly-in Café. With our first meeting and jam held in October of the same year, Carl's generosity sparked a new chapter in our story.
Inspired by the Bluegrass Fly-In Festival, Carl proposed the idea of hosting a summer festival dedicated to the Blues. The vision became a reality with the inaugural Appalachian Blues Festival on July 14-15, 2023. The inaugural event ignited a spark of enthusiasm and determination within our community. Now, we're thrilled to announce the eagerly anticipated First Annual Appalachian Blues Festival, scheduled for July 19-20, 2024. The event has now passed, check out the gallery below! Join us in 2025 as we come together once again to celebrate the rich heritage and electrifying sounds of the Appalachian Blues.
