The journey to the creation of the Appalachian Blues Festival is a testament to the resilience and passion of the Huntington Blues Society. Emerging from the challenges of the pandemic, our society sought a new home for our monthly meetings, and in the summer of 2022, Carl Bailey extended a gracious invitation to host our gatherings at the Fly-in Café. With our first meeting and jam held in October of the same year, Carl's generosity sparked a new chapter in our story.

Inspired by the success of the bluegrass Fly-In Festival, Carl proposed the idea of hosting a summer festival dedicated to the Blues. The vision became a reality with the inaugural Appalachian Blues Festival on July 14-15, 2023. The event ignited a spark of enthusiasm and determination within our community.

Now, we're thrilled to announce the eagerly anticipated First Annual Appalachian Blues Festival, scheduled for July 19-20, 2024. Join us as we come together once again to celebrate the rich heritage and electrifying sounds of the Appalachian Blues.
